Historic artifacts wantedBy Clyde Taber, MEMBER, ARCHIVE COMMITTEEThe 1940 quartet champion received a Crosley floor model radio. The top fifteen quartets in 1942 were awarded wooden coffee tables emblazoned with the Society emblem. All competitors that year also received a wooden sandwich tray decorated with the Society emblem. In 1946, all quartet competitors were given red and white striped canes. Your museum has some of the items given as awards. But it does not have one of the red and white striped canes, the sandwich tray or know the throat lozenges brand name. To help preserve our history, the museum is looking for examples of these early prizes. If anyone has one of these prizes and would like to donate it to the museum, please contact the museum at 800-876-7464 or send an email to museum@barbershop.org. Learn more about the early prizes by reading "But where will we put the coffee table?" This can be found on the museum Web site www.barbershop.org/museum under "Cool New Stuff."
