Information sent to district BETY coordinators; chapter BEs and PROs
please read

By John Sugg, VP-PRO

I'm sure you are each embroiled in preparation for receiving and working on BETY. The deadline is near, and based on the action last year I know you will have a busy few weeks to get everything done. Because it takes a great deal more effort for an entry to be made for PROTY, and since there have traditionally been few entries, and the award is not announced until the annual meeting in July, the deadline will be much later than for BETY.

There would possibly be time for you to get a short write-up in your district news, don't be hesitant to solicit entries from your district.

Most chapters who have a bulletin editor will also have a good PR man (sometimes the same person). With e-mail or however you acknowledge receipt of the BETY entry, ask the BE to contact his chapter PR person and tell him about PROTY.

Living just off the campus of the University of Arkansas for the last 45 years, I have excellent people to assist me in the final judging. If you can get your entries to me by May 15, 2000, we will be ready for Kansas City, I promise.
