author: Mark Axelrod, editor of "Blue Chip Chatter," Teaneck, NJ.

QUESTIONS:

1- What is unusual about the chorus that represented the Northeastern District in the 1962 Internationals?

2- How close was the score between the champs and the #2 chorus in the 1990 Internationals?

3- Who was the oldest singer from a 1st place quartet at the time of his death?

4- Who was the youngest singer from a 1st place quartet at the time of his death?

ANSWERS:

1- No chorus represented the NED in the 1962 Internationals. My source, most irritatingly, did not say why. If you know, please enlighten me and I'll stick it in a future quiz.

2- Incredibly, it was a dead heat! The Masters of Harmony and the Thoroughbreds had the identical score. The tie was broken by the score of the sound category in which the Masters had a six point advantage. How's that for a cliffhanger!

3- Roy Frisby, the lead of the 1942 champs the Elastic Four, passed on in 2000 at the age of 94.

4- Mike Senter, the bass of the 1972 champs the Golden Staters, sadly died at the age of 39, in 1979.
