Tribute to Elizabeth Knight
|
The Capital Chordettes are mourning the loss of long-time member Elizabeth
Knight, who died on May 17, 2011.
Elizabeth was an active member of the Capital Chordettes for over 37 years
sharing her music knowledge and beautiful singing voice. When she became ill,
we learned the music “For Good””. We had to learn it perfectly because
Elizabeth would have known if an error was made. The song is from the musical
“Wicked”. The words are very appropriate and portray our feelings. Earlier this
year the chorus performed the song for her – needless to say – Elizabeth was
delighted!
It was a privilege to be invited by Elizabeth’s family to sing this song at the
reception following the Funeral Service as our tribute to Elizabeth. We are not
saying goodbye… just a loving farewell to a dear friend… for Elizabeth will be
always in our hearts. We will remember her through our music, our harmony and
this song. She was a wonderful talented lady who has made a difference in each
one of our lives …for Good.
