Carolyn Henderson took on the position of Director of the Capital
Chordettes in February, 2007, the group her father, Jerry Dunlop, directed
until his death in August, 1990.
Carolyn is a very busy Mom to two beautiful boys, Scott age 9 and Cameron age
7. Their busy schedules keep her hopping most days.
Music has always been part of Carolyn's life, whether singing as a child with
her family or on her own. Carolyn studied voice privately for more than ten
years under Charlotte Stewart, and started singing with the Capital Chordettes
when she was eighteen years old. She has had a numerous roles in local musical
theatre and has taught voice.
Carolyn currently sings lead with the quartet, Black Velvet, and they competed
at their first Area 2 Contest & Convention in Portland, ME in 2008. The quartet
is very busy performing in the Ottawa area and often performs as an octet with
the amazing Barbershop Harmony Society quartet Polaris.
Besides her barbershop activities, Carolyn and her boys enjoy crafting,
swimming, playing at the park and enjoying time together with family and
friends. Both children are future musicians in the making.
