Welcome...
...to the home of Barbershop Harmony in Beaver Valley,

The Beaver Valley Chapter was established in 1951, and is currently made
up of more than 35 members (including 1 active Charter member!).
We meet every week to share our love of
making music, and we have a whole lot of fun doing it.
We don't just keep it to ourselves, we
perform regularly in area nursing homes, for civic and community organizations, and at
community events such as fairs, festivals, etc. Several active quartets made up of members
of the chorus also perform throughout the area. Each February, members of the chapter fan
out (in groups of 4, of course) across the valley to deliver Singing Valentines. In
addition, we put on our annual Chapter Show, The Harvest of
Harmony, for the general public each November.
If you'd like us to sing for your group
or organization, just drop us a line.
If you are a Barbershopper and you are
passing through the area, OR if you love to sing and just want to see what
we're all about, you are always welcome to stop by and sit in on a practice.
And... don't forget about the Show in November!

The Beaver Valley
Chapter's Mission Statement
The Beaver Valley Chapter of SPEBSQSA, Inc. will
strive to propagate, perpetuate, and preserve a great American musical form
Four-part a capella male harmony in the "barbershop style. We will do this
through singing well with the assistance of our music team, Society coaches, and District
and Society educational activities. Our musical growth will further be assessed by
qualified Society judges at competitions.
We will attract new members by demonstrating our
proficiency and through community performances and activities. Community involvement will
also provide education to the general public to help insure the preservation of our art
form. Youth outreach in local schools will expose young people to the joys and unique
harmonics of barbershop music. We will support both Society and local charities through
monetary contributions and community activities. None of these missions will interfere
with our goals of good fellowship, family involvement, and camaraderie, not only locally
but with other barbershoppers around the world. |
